Plans to create a sustainable business that supports the health and biodiversity of the planet do not take place overnight. Our Shades of Green policy illustrates our continued effort to respond to environmental and community issues that affect all of our customers, staff and suppliers.
Through almost 40-years of trading we strive to encourage houseplants and gardening for health and well-being, the promotion of ‘perfect for pollinator’ plants, the provision of peat-free compost alternatives, greater choice in natural pesticides, as well as a cultural shift towards low-impact living (reducing waste and plastics, sourcing low food mile products and improving our energy efficiency).
Like the plants that we grow and sell, environmental and sustainable ideas start as seeds that sprout and mature with our businesses. Some of our plans may take years to successfully come to fruition, so we’re hoping you can follow the development and success of our small and large changes through our Shades of Green policy.
Peat Policy
One of the ways Plantsplus garden centre is trying to reduce our environmental impact is through reducing our peat usage, both in our nursery and in our offering to customers. Click here to read our full Peat Policy.
