Plantsplus started off life back in the 60’s as a small nursery growing tomatoes, fruit and cut flowers. It was then opened as a cash and carry wholesale nursery on behalf of Four Oaks, open during the Summer months only, supplying local councils and landscapers with bedding plants. Now, 50+ years on, it’s one of the fastest growing garden centres in the area, expanding the facilities, range and offering year on year.
In 2000, the site entered into the age of retail, trading under the name Plantsplus in the current site and was purchased by the Crabbie Family to join Berwick and Dunbar Garden Centres in 2016.
Celebrating it’s 5th year of ownership by the Crabbie family in November 2021, there’s been a vast amount of improvements made in the 5 years such as the building of the Restaurant, re-surfacing of the car park, installation of biomass heating system, renovations to the retail area, children’s play park, plant area extension and much more!
Our most recent developments include the opening of our Pet Shop and Farm Shop in 2021, and welcoming Northumberland Family Butcher in 2022.
